Can you imagine what would happen if you suddenly lost all airspeed indications on your flight deck? First, you’d have no idea the limits of the aircraft based on airspeed. Are you close to stall? Overspeed?

Thankfully, you don’t have to worry too much. The 777 has systems to handle such errors, and with icing in particular, a system to ‘heat up’ the pitot probes.

Rest assured, with the built in redundancy, you’ll always have accurate airspeed indications.
