One day I was browsing the internet and came across this really awesome website. But then I realized that it was super hard to navigate inspite of all it’s AWESOME aviation videos. And then I realized…
It’s the Angle of Attack Website! *GAAAAAASP*
Over the past several weeks we have ben improving the functionality of the website and the navigation that is used.
Here is a list of improvements we have made, as proof of this bold claim.
- Added “Customer Service” to the top. This takes you straight to our NEW ticketing support
- Added a ‘Members’ link at the top so you can easily get back to the Membership Dashboard from anywhere
- Updated AviatorPro Dashboard to be ‘pretty and cute’. But really, it looks a lot better.
- Updated the AOA Members Wall, inside the membership area, with new functions
- Removed unnecessary and distracting widgets from sidebar
- Updated ‘Comments’ usage to ‘Discussion’. More friendly, right?
- Added pretty type font everywhere that makes each and every word easier to read
- Began the process of creating a new and robust video player for Members Content
- Added less intrusive twitter and facebook share buttons. Pulled the ejection cord on the annoying ones.
- Updated RSS and Feedburner so the links are no longer broken, and people can follow the blog
- Deleted unneeded scripts that were being loaded on every page. Decreased load time by 40%.
- Offloaded images to CDN. More work needs to be done, but this will cut load times in half
If you stuck around this long and read all of the many things we’ve been doing behind the scenes, you can see that things are really improving.
The thing is, we don’t feel like we’ve really made a huge dent in what needs to be done… yet.
You’ll also notice that we aren’t just ADDING, ADDING, ADDING all these features and widgets and… DISTRACTIONS. We’re simplifying and streamlining so you can simply enjoy the training, with ease and speed.
We’re really excited about the incremental improvements going on, and as we get further down the road here, it’s just going to get better.
If you have any additional suggestions or maybe issues you’re running into, PLEEEEEASE tell us. We really do listen and take into account what you have to say.
