Yes, even Santa is a nerd like you. If you were nice this year, he may even bring you your favorite FS addon. If not, you get a CG-shifting lump of coal!
Short Roof Takeoffs
Not all roofs are created equal. Santa has some pretty gnarly roofs that he has to land on. Ice is a factor, of course, but what about roof length? You think our takeoffs are hairy at a perfectly fine airport? Try taking off from a roof!
With Flight Sim, Santa can practice his Vx climbs. He can also learn what isn’t possible, and when he’ll just have to put down in the back pasture.
Instrument Approaches
Things get dicey on Christmas Night. There are bound to be places around the world that Santa can’t even see rudolfs nose because the weather is so thick, no matter how bright and shiny his nose may be.
By loading up the Ultimate Extreme Sleigh X II in Flight Sim, Santa can practice his approaches to all those waiting roofs with precision. All he has to do is line up the dial with the roof centerline, and report crossing CHMNY. The Reindeer handle the rest.
Crew Communication
It can’t be easy to have 9 copilots! After an off-season speaking Spanish at his private mexican retreat, Santa has to be able to rattle off commands in English again; and quickly! “On Dasher! On Dancer! On Prancer and Vixen! On Comet! On Cupid! On Donner and Blitzen! Rudolf, landing lights”
Rudolf-“Check, Captain Santa!”
Santa-“Bueno… DANG IT!”
New Sleigh Testing
I can’t imagine Santa has the same sleigh that he did at the beginning of time. I’m also pretty sure he put in a major order with the secret Elves over at Garmin and got himself the XMAS1000 Upgrade on this Avionics.
All that new equipment for such an old man could be overwhelming. Santa uses his flight simulator to learn all the tips and trips of the new avionics suite, so he’s not plowing into trees, houses, or even cars.
His short roof takeoffs and instrument approaches would be a mess without learning, too!
Have a Merry Christmas, everyone! And may your New Year be the best ever!
